Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

What did you just buy for your gravel bike?

Still have the SLK, my shop was stumped as am I about WTF was wrong with it.

We had a customer at our shop that replaced 2 under warranty that were separating between the crank arm and the spindle. He was a real cruncher though. I have not had any issues. You might want to try and replace it under warranty. If you have moved on then replace it and sell the replacement on ebay?

700x38 Specialized Sawtooth 2Bliss tires, on sale for $22 (with 15% coupon code for signing up to their email list) so I decided to give'em a try.

I actually wanted the 700x42 but those are like many items in the bicycle world: out of stock.

Bought a new Stigmata and the stock setup needed some tweaking for me. I bought an ENVE Gravel bar in 46cm, ENVE bar tape, Redshift Sports suspension stem, Redshift suspension seat post, Apidura Racing frame bag and top tube bag, WTB Resolutes in 42, and Terrene Elwoods in 40. I'm pretty well set for a while.

The used 2020 Specialized Diverge Elite E5 I bought needed a few tweaks to get it set-up perfectly. It came with new, 38mm Tracer Pro 2Bliss tires with tubes but I added:
  • Redshift ShockStop Stem, 6-degree (20mm shorter than OEM)
  • Spinergy 2021 GX MAX 700c wheelset
  • DT Swiss Centerlock Adapters
  • Tubeless conversion (Thinvik rim tape, Teyssor tubeless valves, and Orange Seal Endurance)
  • EC90 (Chinese) Carbon Seatpost and Fiber Grip Assembly Gel (good for more than just carbon parts)
  • EC90 (Chinese) Saddle (this is a knock-off of the Specialized Power saddle)
  • Topeak Aero Wedge Pack, Medium
  • Ritchey WCS Ergomax Drop Bar, 44cm
  • Domain Cycling Extra-Long 3mm Gel Tape
  • Self-Fusing Silicone Tape (for neatly finishing bar tapes)
  • Shimano PD-M540 SPD Pedals
  • Scott MTB Comp Boa shoes (I liked these better than the Shimano MT3/5 or XC3/5 shoes that I tried)
Fails for me were:
  • Fizik Tempo Microtex Bondcush Classic tape - not very soft or stretchy, difficult to install, and uncomfortable under the hand (replaced with Domain Cycling 3mm Gel Tape)
  • Redshift Cruise Control Top Grips - a bit bulky and difficult to tape wrap (replaced with Ritchey Ergomax bar with flattened tops)

Well...(cough), it was really just a matter of personalizing all three touchpoints and upgrading the wheels. Basically. If anyone who lives with me asked.

A very gently used Kuat Sherpa. Lady was selling it as a result of a divorce.......for $150. Good score, I'd say.

Got some accessories to go with the new bike rack

But with the Soma all road carbon fork instead. I like the tweaks to geo that they made and the IS brake mounts and QR make it easier and cheaper for me to just swap most everything over. Just need a diff crank with a road length spindle.

Sold my Soma Rush last year and am missing it, so hey, back to the Soma fab fam.

Those IRD cable stops look nice. I have them on order here but no stock for the foreseeable future here in Europe. The QR function looks useful.

Bummer. I may not use the barrel adjuster portion since I already have inline adjusters, but we'll see. They could prove to be easier to adjust.
