My most recent entry. Mostly done. As an 1989 (?) with 10 speed Ergos, it doesn't quite fit the rules, but I liked this thread before it got moved here.

Here’s mine as it is now… found some kestral bars and 3ttt stem at the co op for $20, and like the shape so said why not? Wasn’t a fan of the shape of the cinelli bars that came with the bike. Speedplay x2 pedals because they were cheap new in box at the co op. Drivetrain is Sachs new success and first gen Athena mix. It’s fast, stable, and so much fun.

I know, the housing for the front brake is too short. It’s already been fixed, but the suns down and this is the pic I have.

Can anybody help a rookie learn "the rules?" I've been scrolling through the thread but not sure I figured it out. I'd hate to post something that violates the Geneva Convention.

At the time, this thread had been moved to the early brifters (7,8,9 speed) forum. My bike was pre-integrated shift/brake lever, and was built up with 10-speed components. That was the spirit of the original founders of the thread, but it got moved around between forums a couple of times.

post it. If you break the rules then someone will make a post pointing it out. You can safely ignore them for the most part.

I enjoyed going through this thread. Some really nice builds. I just finished up this one with Dura Ace 9 speed.

'74 Harry Quinn Tourist, 1x SRAM build. Likely built for either 5spd or internal gear use, the frame only has one shifter bz-on, left side, so a resto 1x build is kinda natural. This is one build back, now has a Sturmey-Archer S3X fixed 3spd hub build, which may or may not stay.

One of my faves, recently sold, this '78 Kvale had at least a couple different brifter builds under my tent. I don't recall ever giving it a vintage build? This went back to the previous owner, which seems to happen a lot with me. I often feel like I'm only borrowing my bikes/frames. Pretty much identical location for the two photos, give or take a few feet.

Most recent build:

And for the wrap-up, a pair of 1x restomod '82 Columbines, also just posted a little further below in the "New classic frame" thread. The green Columbine has been modestly upgraded, will probably shoot some new photos once I finish getting some 11spd on there. For anybody experiencing unpleasant palpitations, the silver Columbine is now pretty much all vintage, also pretty much all-Campy, with a little Modolo thrown in.

My Master Olympic with 12 speed Chorus:

It got a little shorter but slammed black stem since that photo, so looks a lot racier. Went all in on this build, so Chris King headset, beautiful Royce hubs etc. Very pleased. It even takes 28 mm tires with room to spare.

Thanks. The tape is Brooks Microfibre. Kinda stiff and hard to wrap imo, but looks and feels nice.
