Townie 7D - mid motor conversion

Hi - I just realized that a foldable eBike (i.e. Lectric Xp 20) iS NOT a good match. For camping and general use, I'm now considering converting our trusty, 5 yr old Townie Electra 7D's to eBike. I'd love any feedback, suggestions, comments, links, photos, videos - etc. TIA!

Electra (Trek) has their own rear hub conversion. Should work well with either front/rear hub or friction drive. For me, the "flat, relaxed nature of the bottom bracket area would preclude use of mid-drive since the motor would hang down like a cow's udder. You just need to decide how much power you want and your budget.

The Townie frame has plenty of space for a big battery box.
