Good luck! I hope you get it figured out quickly. Sounds that I can't determine the source of on my bike drive me CRAZY!

Sometimes it is silent. Very unpleasant ride as I tried to figure out what it was and worried about a failure at speed. It happens while coasting and doesn't seem to be dependent on speed or whether or not I'm turning. No obvious rubbing on the fender, and no marks on the tire or wheel. Then while riding up a steep hill in the last half-mile of my ride it got louder such that I thought I had broken a spoke and it was thrashing around. But they are all tight. Walked it home.

I've had the fenders on before, but not with these tires. I need to look at this more closely tomorrow, maybe try going out without the fender and see if it still does it.

picked up my new bike this morning. A 2023 Electra Cruiser 7d .
I swapped out the saddle and pedals . Made a few adjustments and added a Cateye computer . Then took it out for a cruise .
I like it , so far , but would like different gearing . A smaller chairing would help but I’ll have to swap out the cranks to do that .

Thanks, figured it out tonight. At first I thought maybe I was underinflated and the wheels were creaking. I ran the Bontrager R1's I had before at 65 and 70 psi (F/R), but I saw the Continentals have much higher recommended pressures. So I inflated both to 90 psi, and it didn't help. Then I took off the front fender (since I thought the problem was in front), and that didn't help either. Finally I took off the rear fender (which is a bit of a pain since I need to remove the wheel), and that was it! Maybe these tires are a little wider that the 32's I had before, or I just wasn't careful enough installing the fender. Must be close, since they are fine on the stand. Funny how I was sure the problem was in front. It's going to be dry the next couple of days, so I'll reinstall the fender when I get a chance and see if I can get more clearance.

Goal: 300 miles

Going to fall woefully short this month, not likely to have time to ride today or tomorrow. Yesterday's 15+ MTB miles on the dirt part of Mulholland was pretty grueling, for what that's worth. Should've heeded my GoPro's subtle advice when it kept overheating.

September goal
To get back to riding daily.
9-17 2.8 miles
9-18 1.2 m
9-19 1.0 m
9-20 2.0 m
9-21 3.3 m
9-22 3.3 m
9-23 3.2 m
9-24 4.7 m
9-25 3.0 m
9-26 2.6 m
9-27 3.0 m

9-28 3.0 m
9-30 3.3 m
MTD 36.4 miles

rode the new bike for the first half this morning. I’m going to have to swap out the cranks so I can get a smaller chainring on it . I’m only using the first three gears . I want to be in the middle of the freewheel for most of my riding so I can use the big cogs for spinning up hills .
Rode the single speed to finish up and enjoyed it more. Seemed easier even with 44/23 gearing.

169 miles in September. Goal was 200, IIRC, but I was away for a week and needed 2 days to recover from a long drive. I'm planning on joining my local club for a 40 mile ride tomorrow, and I rode 25 yesterday, so I won't ride today. YTD miles: 1170, 3 short of last year, which is better than I hoped for, because Spring of '22 was a lot colder, windier, and wetter than Spring of '21.

Goal for October: 75 miles. I'll be traveling for a week or 10 days.

Well I got lazy at the end of the month and didn't meet my revised goal. We'll see what happens in October.
My YTD is pretty good, I'm way ahead of that goal, which is 6000 miles. So I only need to get a couple hundred miles per each remaining month. I am sure that I will hit that number barring a show stopping accident. See ya'll in October.
