Haven't posted a picture of it in a minute; here's my '21 Sutra. Thought a steel touring bike was going to hold up, but I kept busting rear spokes and eventually cracked the rear wheel.

Now there's a Velocity Cliffhanger on the back.

Love your bike, but that bench steals the show.

How much do you weigh if you don't mind me asking? I love the Domane but weigh about 240 and have issues with another carbon frame and flex when I put power down causing rubbing issues.

Real big fan of aero wheels. I believe the biggest bang for the buck in aero drag reduction is from a good aero wheelset. All the other drag reduction is minimal although it does add up, but generally because it's "aero" they charge an arm and a leg for it. My 80's Nishiki Sebring uses a pair of aero wheels and that is my fastest upright bike because of it.

I think your Cannondale is much older than 2010 ...like 97'-99'? My understanding is some frames were still built in the U.S. as late as 2007 - but Cannondale certainly has had a few owners over the decades. Cool retro look to it!!

It’s a 2010 T1. That was the last year that Cannondale made their bikes in the US. See page 41 in in their 2010 catalog. Cannondale made touring bikes for only a couple of more years after 2010 so this is also among the last Cannondale touring bikes made. Pity as they are excellent touring bikes.

I also have a 2010 Cannondale road tandem (US made)

and a repainted 2004 T800

As well as a 2003 T800 that the T1 replaced. I didn’t need to replace it but I wanted a different color bike and the T1 frame showed up on Fleabay.

I see what your saying now after looking at the catalog - they really took a retro approach to those graphics for that model; even the headbadge on yours looks retro. Your tandem has the graphics that are totally in line with the mid-late 1st decade 2000's models. I like the color scheme you chose for your 2004 - gorgeous! I agree with you ... I always loved the Cannondale touring models - there were only a couple of years that they made them with a low enough stand over height for me, but I always wanted one. I owned a late 80's Trek 520 which was nice (chro-mo) but always later coveted the Cannondales! I am most familiar with 1992-2007 Cannondale bikes, and I remember they were starting to make most of their bikes overseas by 06-07'. I'm glad they at least extended their US made touring models to 2010. Thanks for the education!

They went back to the “Railroad station” head decal for the 2010 T1 but I don’t think they did it for any other years or models. The decal set used on my 2004 has the train station logo but I think that was a retro decal set. I didn’t paint the bike nor did Cannondale ever do a black bike with orange decals…at least not in the touring models. I bought the frame because of those orange decals.

My two Cannondale CAAD10 framesets, the top one is a 60cm 2015 model, whereas the bottom one is a 2014 in a 58cm, which I raced crits on. Both are built up with Dura Ace 9000 components, sans cranks and wheelset. The frames are Incycle Team models. Cannondale custom painted for these frames for the bicycle chain, Incycle, which is located here in So. California. During that time, Incycle was the #1 Cannondale dealer in the US. I just sold my Super Six Evo HM, hoping to find a CNCPT CAAD12

I

I've always wanted to try fixed gear. This bike came up locally for $60 and I had to jump. Repacked the bearings, new tires and tubes, a set of salsa cowchippers, seat post, classic Red Ritchie spd pedals.

I was thinking of selling the bike but I think it looks too cool to sell ... For now.

I'm 6'3", 255 lbs. This one is the one I ride most - best riding bike I have ever had. All my bikes have old lugged steel frames ranging from 1965ish to 1982ish. This one and one other run Campy 10sp triple drivetrains, two run Eroica-Compliant but not period-correct stuff, and one (my commute/town bike) has Shimano 9sp triple. I will use either 32 or 36 spoke wheels. Depending on frame clearances, my tire choices run from 25mm to 32mm, and I am a fan of Continental 5000s (and 4000s before them). My favorite wheel set-up is Campy 10sp Record or Chorus hubs laced to Mavic Open Pro rims. (And yes, I prefer butted spokes - they break less frequently that straight-gauge spokes.) They work well for me, and I don't baby them, although I do pay pretty close attention to the road and avoid potholes, cracks, rocks, etc. as much as conditions allow.

I like but do not demand thicker-walled tubing (SP or SPX is great for me) and won't ride uber-thin-walled tubing (SL/SLX is okay, 753 is not), almost entirely because of frame whip and only a teeny-tiny bit because of fear of frame failure. I will not ride wheels with fewer than 32 spokes. Other than that, I do not make special considerations for my size and do not have unusual problems with my bikes. This stuff is generally a good amount stronger than manufacturers want to say out loud.
