My first one was 60+. I think all 4 of mine were between ages 60-66. Two were completed riding mostly solo but 2 were with a group of 10-12 which were awesome. We rotated 2 mile pulls and kept the group together.
Rides that were equally challenging and maybe even harder were a couple 125 milers which have over 15,000’ of climbing, with almost 10,000’ of climbing in the first 62 miles.

All of my 200+ have been post 60th. with my max of 307 miles as a 66.5yo in 20 hours at 2017 Bike Sebring 12/24 Hr. In 2018 my right knee gave out the night before the Sebring start and that time I was only able to complete 266 miles riding SOLO before the knee gave out.

I've done 50 DCs, but I started in my 40s.

When I did my one-and-only DC two months before turning 22, I encountered a 76-year-old Black gentleman who had ridden the Los Angeles Wheelmen Double Century every year since he had turned 65 and retired as a postal carrier, from back in the days when they walked their routes. Talk about a lifelong commitment to fitness.
