Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's a nice gimmick--not suitable for serious football teams.

Some drop bars and a front derailleur and I could dig it.

Reading online sounds like it’s pretty common, when you have upped the intensity and or miles. My cadence on the trainer tends to be at a lower rpm, and harder gearing.

Im hoping it feels better in the morning but I don’t think it will. Also might have to raise my stem up for the time being. I like the position but the article said too low of a stem can lead to knee pain.

I hadn't heard of bar height creating knee problems, I guess anything is possible.

The classic, really rough rule of thumb is:

- pain in the back of the knee, saddle too high
- pain in the front, saddle too low

Of course there are a million different factors, cleat position, cleat rotation, cleat float, saddle fore/aft ...

I’ve heard that as well but Im pretty sure with the amount of miles I have done this year my saddle height is fine.

Lowering the stem and cause lower back muscles to fatigue which your body compensates and it puts more pressure on the knees.

This is the most i’ve ridden this bike since I dropped the stem, so It’s a possibility.

Prolly just over training.

I tried a different sort of race on Zwift. EVR America West, which is "Escape Velocity Race" run in different time zones. It was the only race that started anywhere close to 6 PM PST. I signed up for the D's, where I apparently won, according to ZwiftPower, or came in 3rd, according to the Companion App. The former shows a field of 3, the latter a field of 8. I think the two guys who are first and second on the Companion App weren't wearing HRMs, so they don't count.

I'm not sure how much harder I could have gone. It was an hour long race, but most of it (75%) I was at Z1-Z3.

Since we are all about indoor training/Zwift/trainers/yada/yada/yada, I'm exceptionally sore after 3-4 rides lately. I figure that it must be the relentlessness of not being able to coast, minimal position changes, etc. Also, I have a bike on the trainer that I don't ride much so that could be some of it, too. Regardless, I'm sore and achy and I'm doing sessions under an hour with climbing and intensity that's way less than most of y'all.

Anyway, I'll be glad to get back outside when the weather abates a little.

We had some time to kill before dinner last night and wandered into Mellow Johnny’s. Nice store with an army of friendly staff. I saw some winter gloves I liked, but didn’t buy. Visit was cut short by desire of family to go to a bar. Animals.

Just don't ignore it if it doesn't get better (or gets worse). Also be mindful that you're not horsin' it too much with the lower cadence/higher torque - you may be shifting around a bit and screwing with your pedaling mechanics.

I think that they'd want a few thousand in addition to your Sirius.

But yeah, I like the stem, too - paint-matched is always a big bonus.

I know - meant that figuratively. Even so, would probably dig deep and do it. The thing has character.

Abshipp might have to post the size and cost including shipping to his old stomping grounds.
