Addiction 2022.3

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

She is 11th overall after today. She is on the FDJ team. She's almost 3 minutes back, just ahead of the American Veronica Ewers.

Yeah, I probably have the same Mercer. It's fine, but I wish that I would have gotten a Tojiro.

The top 6 are within a minute. The woman who got knocked off by her team car yesterday is in 10th As bad as her day was she only lost a minute and a half.

The one who took the wrong turn today was given the same time as the group she was with.

Kinda shameful that the course is poorly-marked enough for that to be possible.

How are people watching?

He doesn't listen. He's an associate of my regular doc. HIs nurse confirmed my allergies. He prescribed something that I was allergic to. The pharmacy caught it. I told him my pacemaker acted weird. I climbed almost 2,000 feet with an avg. heart rate of 102. i walk through the house and it might be 123. He says "your pacemaker responds to your efforts".

Well, to be fair, he didn't say it responded appropriately.

I always under-drink too, but people manage to do it or come dangerously close on a regular basis.

Happens with sports drinks too, but maybe not Brawndo. Li2CO3 is good.

We haven't had a mandate, in open areas, for a couple months, and folks won't take them off. I had thought it was just the rural, uneducated areas, but it's the same in the city. It's shocking. When I go for my rides, I have to wear one on my chin, just so it shows and I don't get the stinkeye. There are folks out there on motorcycles fully masked. They won't fasten the chinstraps on their (required) helmets and they won't take off their masks.
