Funny you should say that, about her being off to the races. As I read this thread, I got a weird premonition, like this girl was going places. 🤔

Best of luck to her, whatever she does. 👍

That bike slaps, as the kids say. Or said in 2019? I don't know, I can't pull that off. Nice job.

Another great @Andy_K bike build!

Were you able to find shorter crank arms for this?

These are 170. I had a double crank that was 165, but I decided the lower gear was of more value than a slightly shorter crank. I once heard someone use the analogy of what size stairs you're comfortable walking up. Since then I've been skeptical about how much difference +/-5 mm makes in crank arm length.

As a card carrying Millennial, albeit an older one, I have seen the word "slaps" used in context with a song/track that is good/approved, most often in hip hop (think E-40 and Bay Area music). As to the exact year that term was at its peak, 2019 is as good as anything within the last 5 years. Terminology like that shifts more often than sand dunes in the Sahara.

Andy, that Shogun turned out wonderfully!

Believe it or not, I was curious, so I sought counsel on the yootoobs, and apparently those of us who have used “slaps” to compliment something other than music are the objects of fierce ridicule from the Bay Area musicians who coined the term. I have egg on my face. And I know I used that one correctly.

One more bravo on the Shogun, to keep us on topic…

I think the idea of expropriating slang terms from one context for corresponding use in another slaps. Whoever "coined" the term shouldn't Bogart it.
