Canadians Only - Bike Postage

For those living in Canada who have recently (within 1.5 years) posted an entire bike to another location, or who have purchased via private sale an entire bike, what'd it cost you? Are some couriers a better choice than others carting a bike to and fro? I have no idea. I don't think Canada Post does something with those kind of dimensions.

Randy could answer but I do not know how to tag him/people since he sells bikes and ships to Canada and US I believe.

Check out UPS or any other shipping organization (Fedex etc.) for dimensional package pricing...They are far better at this than Canada Post.

Ask for a bike box from your local bike shop, and then cut it down and tape it for smaller bikes. etc.

AVOID UPS at all costs. They are one of the most, if not THE most expensive carrier out there. Hands down their brokerage fees are killer. UPS costs are bad that I avoid sellers who use them to ship to Canada. FedEx, DHL and Canada Post for the last mile/KM are superior in terms of pricing. At least in my experience.

I recently used Canpar. They were the least expensive and bike came from Ottawa to Calgary with no issues.

Hello and thank you for the suggestions for carriers. UPS doesn't seem to have the most wonderful reputation. I wonder if they are only interested in B2B type servicing. In the off chance I have to remit a bike to another BF member, or vice versa, I'd like to know ahead of time how to handle the process of posting.
