I'm back, Dad's okay, and I'm sorry that...

The meet up of the SoCal 50+ riders has been postponed! I can make it after all!

Oh well, we'll do it soon.

My father comes out of the hospital tomorrow, apparently okay again. I'm so relieved. Thanks for the well wishes!

So...which bike should I buy? (ducking!!!)

Glad your dad checked out OK!

You mean you didn't buy that Pilot??? The only reason I signed on for the ride was to see it!

Don't forget that I rode his age, 82 miles, the day that you originally posted his condition. Not that I'm taking any credit here or anything....

Maybe instead of a BF So Cal ride, we should all just show up at DG's door, and chaufeur him around to all the bike shops in San Diego. Sort of a 50+ flash mob scene...

DG, Obviously I missed some earlier post by you concerning your father.
Glad to hear he is okay. Perhaps you should have him go with you shopping for a bike!

After you buy a bike, we need you to organize an East Coast 50+ Meetup.

Good to hear your Dad is okay.

I don't anything about the cost but I rented and rode a Specialized Sequoia elite while I was in New Mexico last week. I was impressed with the overall ride quality and comfort. It has a "compact frame" (slanted top tube). The frame was aluminum and it had a carbon seat post, carbon seat stays and a carbon fork. It had Shimano 105 9 speed components which is an excellent "workhorse" drivetrain. It's probably not the lightest bike around but my guess it is a very good bike. Like I said, I don't have a clue what the cost of bike like that is but might be something you would want to take a look at.

The Seagull century would be an excellent venue! The question is: Will DG ride his new bike East to make the ride? Bob
