█★█ starsNbars █★█ 38 Hawthorne Twin Bar 5 Bar ☠ - Red White and RUST

Well I finished my Rat Rod Bikes Build Off entry "starsNbars" (Red White and Rust) with this frame. My build this year was a 1938 Monark Built Hawthorne Twin Bar (5 Bar) frame. The 5 bars of the frame are what inspired the "BARS" part of the build name.

Walk around video at the Savannah Railroad Museum and Roundhouse

The "STARS" part of the build started with the starsNbars rust and polished rust pattern that I wire wheeled onto the 1930s longspring saddle

Then I mimicked this starsNbars pattern with paint on the JC Girvins Beehive Springer forks I made

Here are some more photos of the finished bike taken around Historic Savannah, Georgia . Hope you enjoy the bike and my city.

There are some incredible builds this year. You can see a finished gallery of them here - Official RRB Build Off 9 Finished Bike List | Rat Rod Bikes

It's not quite as wild as the 1953 Columbia "Firewing" that I built last year

I bought it from a fellow Rat Rod Bike member. It's a 1938 Hawthorne Twin Bar (5 bar). The neat thing about this frame is the twin top tubes and twin down tubes. I added the interior striping to help the twin bars stand out more.

Here is what I started with.

Also here is an old ad for the bike. It's the one on the right.

Hey buddy! sorry I didn't respond to your pm. Apparently I need more posts on here before I can send pm. I've been working my butt off at work. I've been pretty good! I'm getting married in a few months, and I quit my old job to be an antiques dealer with my fiance's dad. I get to buy and fix up old bikes and make money doing it. most of the cash comes from "regular" antiques though. How have you been? It looks like you're still finding, and building, ridiculously cool bikes.
