Alex Beach

Hi, I'm Alex! I've been lurking here for a couple years poking for advise and inspiration. I suppose I mostly commute (around an 8 mile round trip) although every month I try to get one or two 30+ (usually 50) mile rides in. I grew up with a car dad so I suppose it stands to reason I'm a bike kid- I really enjoy tuning my bikes to my needs, trying out different components, playing LEGO with the extra bits. I'm a fabricator and engineer for work, and have brazed small parts onto some of my own frames like rack bosses and such. I'm excited to start engaging here more- I think what really spurred me to make an account was the Drop Bar MTB Conversion thread, having just set up a Nishiki Colorado this summer. It's been so interesting reading through all this dialogue, and I'm excited to start asking questions and providing input. Hope to see you around! I'm sure I'll post some pics of my rides when I can.
