Need a high riding front basket with wood
i am at ends and not seeing a basket for my bike that suites me. i need it only to put my 6 and a half pound bluetooth speaker on/in and i want it to ride high as i can. most sit below the handle bars so low i would fall off trying to switch songs leaning forwards, also i want a more line of site for the music... i would also like the bottom to be lined with wood... also most baskets that attach to the fork will not fit due to it having such a fat and curved fork; mostly all of them. is there an basket that meets my requirements that just does not need to be attached to the fork

At 12.5" long why not get a regular handlebar basket, put a piece of wood across it and then strap the speaker and wood to the basket via straps around the speaker, wood and basket?
Btw, it'll be interesting to see/feel what having that much weight high up on the bike will do to the steering. There're good reason why most handlebar bags and handlebar baskets sit low on the bike.

If you get the basket a little larger than you you need for that gargantuan Bluetooth speaker you can include some kind of contraption to burn incense so you can subject those around you to your preference of smells too. And the higher you mount it, the further the smells will travel. Those around you will love it, trust me.

Instead of buying a basket, how about some bone conducting headphones? That way everyone around you doesn't have to hear what you think they should hear. Trust me - they don't want to hear it.

Don't forget to put a bungee or two over the top to keep the speaker from bouncing out of the basket and smashing to pieces on the pavement.

i got the speaker for bass not loudness. and i play it on my computer desk quiet enough that you 15 feet away can not hear it but i do like how the bass is still deep at low volumes
the speakers i mount are very directional and i do not play them that loud. only on the country side if i feel like it i play it louder. heck i rather have sound quality over loudness and the sony matches all that
directional one way
sounds good quiet( cars are louder then me)
and the quality sound i want.

but it is strange how most of you say i wounder what it will do for handling. i put grocery bags on it and they are not light when filled and i have no problem. but i been biking hard for 20+ years so i might be able to deal with it much better then most...
sorry people do not understand that i asked a question because i am at ends with trying to find a suited basket... i am looking at building me something. had me a jam rewind mounted to it and everyone wanted to hear it and no complaints. if you do not like it my bike will be long gone before you get the po po on the phone

In my defense...at least glegster isn't riding an unmuffled Harley blasting his speakers loud enough to hear over that racket.
And of course if the OP does crank the volume loud enough, he won't hear innatentive drivers approaching him from the rear or sides, and I'd wager he's not using mirrors in traffic, so he may not be a long term a-noise-ance to his community anyway.

you know half the time i struggle to hear my music cause just a small car is making too much road noise. think befor you judge someone. and on top of that f150s and semis are the worse i can not hear it at all. that is why i take a lot of side streets

Although I intended the addiitonal commentary in jest, it was uncalled for, and since you took offense, I apologize.
Plus despite my own preferences and opinions, listening to music with a speaker while riding in traffic is still safer than plugging both your ears with noise-cancelling earbuds or headphones.
I, myself listen to spoken-word podcasts in my curbside ear only, and traffic does sometimes drown it out.

I don't get why people are so upset with riders having speakers, do you get upset at cars who blast music? Thats much louder than a portable speaker. OP I don't think youre genuine (no offense...) but I like your wooden basket idea, post pics if you actually do it
