yeah...that, the Carnielli stem, the Balilla levers and the Ofmega headset were the most fascinating to me...I got straight to polishing.

The post is a very convenient 27.2 as well.

plus one of my favorite friction derailleurs...ST ARX...not sure how and when they will be used but I am pretty stoked at the fun stuff.

I like how it looks, classic and reminscent of Campagnolo Record and other cranks of that era. But the way it surprised me is that it feels stiffer than other cranks. How do I discern this? I don't know, and I have thought that I'm not strong enough to discern a stiff crank from a flexible one, but I think I do here. Also, it shifts quickly and more easily than other cranksets, thanks to the machining of the teeth and the pins and ramps. It makes my drivetrain quiet. So enjoy yours. You're lucky you got the 165mm arms. I'd be pleased with those. I have 170mm arms which I also like, but shorter arms are better for me. I can't ride 175mm arms, oddly enough.
Not surprised if it really is stiffer, shorter, stouter spider, stouter rings and a few decades of metal and manufacture tech.

I have a Planet X Holdsworth version in stock to go on a what I believe to be touring Holdsworth that may just get painted in the classic orange/Kingfisher blue anyway.

If I ever get to it, it's way down the queue.

Nice score...I was tempted to go to the dark side on that one.

A work in progress. Trying to get organized. Everything was thrown into the bike shed...

My tool box never has to close now!

The current shortage of parts provides quite a challenge. I wanted a new 14-28 5-speed freewheel for a bike I want to take on a trip next Friday. The SunRace FW that's currently on the bike makes a "funny" noise, and IME that doesn't bode well.

After some lengthy browsing I finally found a local supplier in Holland whose site didn't say "out of stock" and I ordered a couple on June 8th. Nothing arrived, and e-mails went unanswered so far.

So, getting somewhat nervous, I went shopping again last Saturday, and found another supplier, this time in Denmark. Got a shipping notification on Sunday, and the parts arrived today, together with the bits I'd added to save on shipping. Phew!

Actually, there is this thread, but I don't like it as much, perhaps because I can't afford a lot of the stuff posted.

I went on another trip with my father to pick up a ridiculously cheap pair of bikes. Only one of which I have plans for, the other i can't even find anything for on the internet.

A "Reflection Freedom" and a pristine 1998 1999 Koga-Miyata Adventure in a size 60. The latter being a lightweight steel hybrid that can probably fit wide tyres and might be a good alternative to the road bike my friend plans to ride on our planned tour along the Côte d'Azur to Rome this summer.
When I learned 8-11 speed Shimano hyperglide cassette bodies can fit certain 12-speed 11-50 cassettes I really wanted to try and get this working on a bike. A hybrid with a bikepacking setup is perfect for that. A 12-speed 11-50 has a similar range to a normal-spec 2x11 setup... were it not that I like running things out of spec. That 20T difference in the front shouldn't work according to Shimano...

Strip all the unnecessary parts and add drop bars for a fairly sporty ride that works well for light touring.

I also got a pair of 42-622 Soma Supple Vitesse EX tyres after reading how @RiddleOfSteel liked them on his Trek 620 and they look good. No riding yet because it's rainy and I'm still having some flu-like symptoms from my covid shot earlier this week. Oh, and the rear wheel needs some redishing and the fender is definitely in the way. But plenty of room here in the frame.

Reflection Freedom

Koga-Miyata Adventure

I guess I will start a build log on the K-M Adventure soon.

Bring it on man, you are one of the many that bring plenty of C+V logic, vibe, thinking, etc. to everything you do.

Not Vintage but Classic.

My 8 year old Mac finally died so I had to bite the bullet for replacement.

These and MKS Sylvan, etc, two of the best values in cycling, so classic, reasonable and cool as C+V can be IMO.

If it puts you at ease I watched stage 5 of the TdF and rode my Bianchi TT today

It was time I have a newer bike in my stable again. It's a long bike build and I'm enjoying it so far.
