With that chainring and some of the outlines on the decals it looks kinda like a Superior or New World? Hard to see.

Nice old track bikes like that always bring a smile to my face. I just love their simplicity yet purposeful reason for being.
Here in Australia, there were so many bike builders building frames for the track or track/daily transport, that it's really difficult to zero in on a specific builder - I'm wondering if it is similar around your neck of the woods?
With all those reflectors, it looks like it's done it's fair share of commuting. I used to love commuting on an old track bike back in my youth.

Good call on the chain ring! But if it's a Schwinn chainring (AS&CO) it appears to be on backwards.
Looks like original paint and wood rims, all in good shape. Quite a find.
I don't recall having seen those lugs on a Schwinn; but certainly on other track bikes of the era, Drysdales, Brennan, etc.

Best guess, a Wastyn, maybe. The cut outs on the headtube lugs say Wastyn or Brennan but I think I see open seat stays and that was a Wastyn detail. BSA chain set pretty common on bikes of this era. Nice bars and adjustable track stem, looks very era original-correct. Fantastic bike, I love these things, is it still for sale?

A real track bike---nice sprints rims and great track fork--many track bikes were build using BSA so that's no help in I.D. but nice to see. Also I've seen those head lugs that go around the head tube but I have no idea on who made them???

Guess I need to change my photo settings. Yes, it's a Goossens Special, the address "missing from decal" is 2424 Fullerton, across the street from Wastyn's at 2429.

Oh man that is super cool! The "Goossens Special" decal is a lot like the Alvin Drysdale and Dick Powers decals of the 30's, but I've never heard of Goossens before.

I have read that Louie Goossens was a Wastyn apprentice that eventually opened his own shop. There was another Goossens Special for sale on EBay a while back that had some trophies, a jersey and some spare wheels for sale. A BF member now owns it, he has some photos of it on the CABE. I had never heard of Goossens prior to the EBay listing, I did a pretty thorough internet search and only came up with four examples including this one, I'm guessing they are pretty rare.
