What have you stocked up on through COVID19?
With the increased demand and further limited supply from manufacturers around the world, everything from chains to brake pads have been hard to get a hold of (at least for some) due to Covid, I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone or your shops have been stocking up on, whether it be inner tubes, electrical tape or parts for a build. Anything, really. Also this might remind me and others to stock up on some more bits myself.
I've got some cables/outers, tyres/tubes and the good swisstop BXPs (highly recommend them too)
I don't think this hasn't been done before, I had a quick check. Hoping it will be a bit of fun.

Not one thing. Just like with the general consumables shortage of bread, milk, toilet paper, I didn’t hoard then so everyone has a shot at getting what they might need. It’s WE not me.

I've considered accumulating stuff beyond my usual one or two of whatever but I haven't found anything I needed to be out of stock. Maybe folks could also post what is in short supply in their area, as a heads up.

Great idea. Here in NZ its not too bad yet. Cassettes and chains are the worst atm. this is mainly from a consumer standpoint, however. I'm hoping some people may able to provide some information on the situation from a supplier or shop view as well.

I've got a few more chains, tires, and brake pads around than usual...But with five bikes, I reckon I'll have something to ride even if there are some parts shortages.

Nothing more than what I had before the covid bike boom started. I even sold a lot of spare parts and extra bikes.
If for some reason a bike is not ride able, I'll ride one of my others.

As a family we have 7 bikes with the same chain and 3 bikes with the same chain. I bought an extra chain of each speed a few weeks ago.
And I bought a couple sets of brake pads a few months ago.
Can't say I have 7 chains stashed as we just don't go thru them frequently enough, so I definitely don't have a use for an extra headset(too many varieties to stock up in) or spare shifters(since they so rarely break).
I have a dozen brake and shift cables, and countless yards of housing but thats normal. Its the only thing I have a significant amount of extra stock.

...26” folding mtb tires.
I scrambled and and found some and picked up some extra tires. Got some I wanted and had to settle on a couple.
There are so many 26ers out there that I think 26” mtb tires will always be available; but I wonder if mfg’s are only going to offer heavier wire bead. That seems to be what I see, and prices are way up from what used to always be on sale.

My wife and I haven't tried to accumulate anything out at all during this government-enforced shutdown time. I have focused on completing the vast list of home repairs and maintenance items that we might have otherwise taken three years to finish. All crammed into 6 months or so.
For bicycles, my repair work and restorations/flips have been going at a blistering pace, so I've been replacing and updating supplies of consumable items like bar tape, cable housing, inner cables and chains. But with the delays in customs inspections (both ways) and fewer flights (none from Japan until very recently), I've had to plan ahead and accept slow deliveries. I was able to find a replacement suspension fork for an electric bike from a seller in Australia. That worked out well, fortunately.
