Status of Mt Baldy?
I have not to Mt Baldy all year and I want to go this weekend before it turns too cold.
Is there water in the village?
How is the road all the way to the lifts?
Will be taking GMR/GRR.

i just did a ride to mt baldy today(10/27) via gmr/grr.
plenty of branches and some small rocks on gmr but the roads were mostly clear. no problems during the climb but maybe a different story descending on gmr.
plenty of rocks on grr to baldy village, but not an issue during the climb.
once you arrive at baldy lodge, there is a water fountain outside of the restaurant, they even put a cooler full of ice for cyclists - a very nice gesture by the owners.
from baldy lodge, I climbed to ice canyon road and turned around, it was a bit too windy for me. the roads from ice canyon road(street before you turn left for the ski lifts)all the way down to baseline road we’re clear from debris, only a handful of small potholes but the roads are safe for a fast descent.
hope this helps

Thanks everyone. I am a worker drone, so I will attempt it on the weekend, very likely on Saturday.
Did not think to see if the Lodge is open. They have a website, easy as pie! Speaking of pie, I might get a cinnamon roll if they have them.

On a related note, I usually go up 39 and only a couple of times up GMR. Where would you park? I like public parks with a restroom to change in.

Encanto Park in Azusa is my favorite place to park for Hwy 39. Easy access to the bridge and the North SGRT. Only problem I had with Encanto is I got chased out of there by LEO because of some kind of monthly event when the city closes the park. Pioneer Park is fine too but I am not sure about restrooms there?

I usually go up Hwy 39 and park at Encanto, but I will be going up GMR this time, so I am looking for something closer. Want to avoid riding in town.

At the bottom of GMR and Boulder Springs Rd is an equestrian center. Restrooms are located on the South end. You can also park past Big Dalton Cyn Rd on the West side overlooking the flood control dam.
I'll be riding to Baldy tmrw as well from Encanto around 0800. Should be a great day.
