Bypass broken control panel
Control panel broken would like to connect 2 wires together to get full power if that's possible
possible controller has on off switch not bothered about battery level not showing

I notice there are 2 cables going in one of them has 2 wires maybe that's the output if I connected those it might do it
I know anything is possible but is it likely that damage can be done to the controller experimenting
also does anybody know of another display that might work.
I connected those 2 wires nothing will get a new display panel

Is this a different bike from the one in your other post? Did you ever get that running? That would be the first thing to do, get a working ebike.
Some controllers will run the motor w/o a display, but first you have to know the controller works.

Yes, a different bike this is my daily commuter, had to use my pedal bike today.
I found a new exact same display from Grin a local company I usually ride past every day, a lot more expensive than AliExpress
fortunately the part I need was on sale, I guess its near obsolete.

Thanks for the follow up

Wow, if you are near Grin, that is quite a local resource! Best in North America.
You would need a controller diagram to fix it, but typically I just close the circuit at the controller and that gives full power.
I always download a copy of the controller wiring diagram when I get one.
Grin isn't a low cost supplier but what I've seen purchasing from China, is the shipping costs often doubles the listed price.

Like chas says, it's more of a controller function than anything the display does, The controllers I own require battery power to be put on a certain lead to start them. Then, if the controller has a default setting for PAS and throttle, those will work.
The risk is this is not something you want to do by trial and error. The wires involved are in the display connector, but applying arbitrary battery power to random leads will blow up the inputs that aren't supposed to ever see high voltage, You have to look at the controller wiring diagram and see exactly where it goes.
Anyway, good that you have a new display coming,
