Same rim, different decals?
Here's an odd one, maybe it's something stupid I've forgotten over the years or I'm missing something - who knows, I'm getting older and more senile..
I have a matched wheelset, someone's old take-offs. The rims are 100% identical in characteristics: Size, shape, color, provisions, dimensions, tooling marks, etc. Both are clearly 700c, yet ... check the decals.
Am I missing something, or is this a Factory error? I realize 700c rims measure to about 24.5", but after multiple measures and side-by sides with orphan 700c rims, they're the same.

I took a length of wire, measured from the edge of the valve stem opening, around the wheel track, then marked where it came back around. I then repeated the process on the other rim in the set, They're within 1mm of each other. I then picked up a 60s/70s era French 700C clincher, took the same measure, and its track circumference was about 3-4mm smaller. So I took a 90s era Campy Lambda 700c and measured, its inside track is about 6-8mm longer. all inner circumference is within a few millimeters, which in the grand scheme of thing translates to a fraction of a millimeter on the diameter.
So these are all in the same general ballpark. I guess it's a bad sticker.

I have a pair of Sun CR18 rims, 700c, that were labelled wrong. I would have taken the labels off anyway, so no big deal to me that they said "26 x 1.75” and "ISO 559." It happens!

If those were postage stamps, a factory error like that could be worth thousands. I'd suggest ebaying the one with the 24" label starting at $1,000.
