C&O spring blooms

Road the C&O yesterday (3/30/31) from Williamsport down river, past Big Slackwater area. The spring flowers are beginning to explode. Dutchman's britches and Bloodroot are everywhere and the Virginia bluebells are just starting to bloom. The area from Williamsport to Brunswick have a great display of Virginia bluebells and with a little warm weather they should be great in the next week or 2. I highly recommend.

I live in DC and took the afternoon off work yesterday and did a nice 30 mile route around the city. Full bloom here too. Gorgeous.

I've hiked and biked on the Towpath for over 40 years and those bluebells are the only flowers I can name! All those other ones I refer to as "those little purple ones" or "those tall white ones." Same with trees - sycamores I can ID, the others all look the same! I even bought I book with pictures, etc. - my brain refuses to cooperate.

So, thanks for IDing a few!

Took this past Tuesday off from work. Rode from Shepherdstown to Harpers Ferry and back. Was nice to see fields of VA Blue Bells! It was a gorgeous day for a ride!
