Good day all, getting all the Campagnolo Record, super Record, Nuovo Record, drive train components together. Wanted to ask what bottom bracket are the favorite choice for a vintage build? Thanks

IE, Campy Record or Nuovo Record. Super Record (with titanium axle) has a reputation for fragility. I'd say ask Laurent Fignon, but he isn't with us any more.

Do you want to keep it period correct with a cup and cone bottom bracket or are you happy to go with a modern one that uses cartridge bearings?

Phil Wood make excellent bottom brackets as well as SKF.

un55 or the new tourney model and just wail on it until it's on tight
use spacers to deal with asymmetry

The cranks will have markings that will guide the correct spindle length.
113-115 mm asymmetrical more on the drive side.

what is the marking on the back side of the drive crank?

An '11' marking would indicate 1985, so post CPSC. British (BSC) or Italian threading for the BB (i.e., what frame are these for)? As noted in this post, Campy BBs are a hot mess back then. For the actual correct BB, you would want the thick cups (with the rifling on the axle openings) with the correct spindle, which you can't necessarily discern from the spindle marking. Chart 4 in the file posted in the referenced post would have the spindle you need, in the New Style portion (post CPSC).

Great! This makes better sense of the whole process. After the 11 speed ultra torque world, going back to the 80s, is relearning all over again. Thanks-All!
