Austrian bikes are cool -- ask the guy who owns three from "The Other" Austrian manufacturer.

Yours look fabulous.

I was going to ask you to post pics, but went to Classic Rendezvous and - lo and behold - found your bike and written description. Very nice - cool lugs and nice paint. 20 bucks at a yard sale!!

As he worked in the industry, I think he probably had many others to ride. He was a collector and also had a barn full of motorcycles. If they were for his wife, she's happily riding a gorgeous Vent Noir mixte that she converted with more upright bars and wider wheels/tires. I'll get more of the backstory when I next talk to her.

Here are the Three Musketeers:

Almost all-orig. 1960 Capo Sieger

Repainted Cap Sieger frame, serial number very close to that of my other Sieger, so who was I to say no to it?

Head tube lug details

I think you asked a tire question -

Any recommendation I might make seems a bit silly - in that, my frames are large and my human frame dressed and holding a water bottle approaches XL (200#).
But:
I ride 22mm tubular Conti Sprinters on the Olympian = for max clearance under fenders. Planning to remove fenders and run a Specialized tubular at 24mm, when\if they go on Sale.
I just switched the VN wheels from VeloFlex Vlaanderen, 28mm tubular, 'rides like a cloud smooth'. Now sporting clinchers with a Wolfpack in a 24mm tanwall tire.

Try www.merlincycles.com and www.probikekit.com before making a final tire decision. Probikekit's free shipping has been slow to me, but always arrives.

Here is the Wolfpack clincher tire. Was on Sale not long ago.

Q for AD experts: when did the Vent Noir go from paint (like this one) to black chrome? I worked at a shop that sold these in the early 80s and the VN was chrome then.

Amazing find!
