1970s Juvela Pictures and Some Reference Information

Perhaps to help someone in the future, I thought I would list some information off the 1970s Juvela I found. Sadly, most of the original parts were gone. But it did have some of the following sizing:

Seat post:: 26.4mm OD. I believe it was original.

Headset: French threading, 25.0mm steer tube, and 26.0 crown race ID.

Bottom Bracket: French threading as well (I had expected Swiss, but nope.)

Rear drop out spacing: 120mm. typical from the five speed era.

Mine has two sets of bottle mounts, I doubt those were original. But they were well done.

Chrome fork socks and crown stays.

Mounting point for a rear center pull brake.

Prior owner had installed Shimanoo RSX parts. Ouch!

French style steer tube.

Nice head badge!

Juvella = Mondia. Frame details same, graphics design same, badge and decals Juvella specific. Had one once, rode great, just like Mondia's. This one is in quite nice original condition! Thanks for sharing.

Yea that does look a lot like my Mondia ., except for the chrome lugs and fade paint job. It has the same wide lug lining and serial number location. I have been riding mine quite a bit lately , a very comfy ride .

any idea whether yours came thru the Montrose Bicyle Shop (in Montrose Calif., sort of along the Foothill Freeway near Pasadena/Glendale/Burbank) who I believe were the West Coast Juvela importers?
