1940's Rear Lamp Braze-On
I am looking for either graphics or information on the proper lamp (or reflector?) setup on a brazed-on fitting on the drive-side seat stay to a 40's British bike. In the photo, the braze-on in question is above the mudguard braze-ons, and is centered on the back of the seat stay. I've been over to Classic Lightweights-Readers' Bikes, and saw quite a few braze-ons on bikes of this time period, but no lamps were installed on these bikes.

Can't speak to lights but reflectors were commonly mounted on this type of braze-on. This isn't period correct but it is a Bluemels. I know I've got a Lucas with the same mount but I can't find it. Also pictured is a different Lucas on my 57 Raleigh Sports with it's own mount.

also, Miller was quite prominent in Brit lighting kit at this epoch
you might wish to check to see if you can locate some period adverts/brochures/catalogues from them
in addition to the Veteran Library Grace's Guide can be a most helpful source of information on vintage Avalonian cycle fittings

Thanks, clubman. That's along the lines of the kind information I was looking for, the brand(s), the lens design and the bracket-style. I had not thought of either Bluemels Brothers or Lucas. I saw a couple Pifco and Miller that looked close, but they all had a clamp-style arrangement.
Hi juvela. I kind of need(ed) a close-up photo, I guess I'm pretty much focusing on a reflector, but I'd like to see a period lamp from different angles, hooked up to the braze-on.
