FS Paisley Tandem
I bought this tandem bike to keep it from being sent to the scrap yard. I would like for it to go to someone who will ride and appreciate it, so I am asking $500 for this bike which is likely worth a lot more than that. But it is a bit of philanthropy for me to see it go to a good home. Here are some pictures: PM me if interested or call me 812-336-3283 to arrange details and getting it to you. Smiles, MH
This one has been spoken for. MH
Bike as I bought it. Stand over height is 34" on front and 32" on stoker.
Scott paisley build. He is still active in cycling and just won a title for Cyclo cross in the 65 age group. Currently working at Blue Wheel Bike and knows this is for sale.
Shimano drive train, 700 c wheels on 40 hole Phil Wood hubs, with front disc brake
Sugino crank sets for tandem, and standard set up.
Blackburn rack and Shimano cantilever brakes.

Big enough for 2 guys.
The fastest I have ever gone on a bicycle (not downhill) was spinning a 54X11 gear at a high cadence - with a strong tandem stoker. Major thrill when with other tandems.

Very cool bike and quite the bargain. I hope you don’t mind that I posted a link to your sale on the tandem sub forum “tandems for sale” thread. This deserves a good home.

I have a Paisley road bike that is very nice, a little rough and a little small so......
Like I said, very nice and Scott's an all around cycling icon in his own right.
He's actually co-owner of the Blue Wheel and has also been National Champion in cyclocross as well.

I have not seen many and none in person, but the craftsmanship is top notch. MH and I were talking about this one being no exception.
Just a beautiful bike.
What size is yours, Van? Pictures...?

Must be early. No brazeons but fastback stays. Very nice.

Scott is my hometown hero. I don’t use the LBS much, but it’s nice to know there’s a guy like that when you need him. One of the few left who has, and knows how to use, an Italian thread BB tap.
I know better than to take my old lady on a tandem, otherwise I’d be all over that.

If that bike is set up for you as shown, that doesn't look "small" to me.. it's a bit more than the canonical "fistful" of seat post but not much more.
With my bike set up like that, I'd use a Technomic to get even with the saddle and be in pig heaven...
cheers -mathias

Paisley is such a rare beast, even here in the Midwest, that I thought I'd share pics of the bikes of a couple of friends...
One is an English style trike:
and the other is a track bike:

It actually had one of those expanding wedge stem extenders on it when I got it and said son wanted it off for his test ride, still didn't speak to him as his first good true road bike was Raleigh Super Course that we worked together on.
He loved that bike but it was stolen off the front of a bus so the bar was very high after that. I tried to get him onboard with the Paisley we would put bar cons on but he was not into it so he ended up with a Chimo that he still has and rode a lot until he finally got a car a couple of years ago.
I futzed with the paisley quite a bit but its simply way to small.
You've seen my regular rider, right?

That’s amazing. You’d think someone would take it with 700’s and Shimano. When I was tandem shopping all the Santanas with 27/Suntour were off my radar

The end of one part of the story and the beginning of another. A special thanks to Dave, aka Mad Honk for giving me this bike, it is quite the beautiful machine.
After a 15 hour round trip we arrived safely home last night back in Wisconsin. I will post more about this bike soon in the tandem section.
