Thanks! The bars are Salsa Woodchipper bars but with the barcons on there, there is less than 1in total clearance between either side and its a real pain to get in and out of doors. Thinking I might end up going with standard road drops simply because of that issue. Your eyes are playing tricks on you, they're both 700c Mavic A719 wheels laced three cross to Shimano 36H hubs. I have Panaracer Pasela TG tires mounted F&R as well. They aren't the best handling tires I've ever ridden but they ride well and seem to be pretty puncture resistant. I've got a side profile shot at home I'll post this evening.
Thanks. It is leather. Its the same Brooks honey color as the saddle. The saddle is used and the bar tape is new. I've treated it with Brooks proofride but I suspect it is going to need to be subjected to significant use before it becomes the same color as the saddle. Decided to splurge on the bar tape and don't regret it a bit.

Tell my about the panaracers and why you feel that they lack in the handling department. Are you comparing them to race tires or other touring tires? What size are you running? BTW, that is a beautifull bike!

Cool bike, those brake levers are wild. I like the Bluemels fenders on there too.

Are those mountansmith bags? Can you give me the dimensions of either the bags or the inside of the cage? I'm assuming the cage is foldable?

The comment about the handling was based on my experience with Continental Gatorskins and GP4000S. This is my first bike of this type and I'm running 700x35c and have no complaints with them. Bigger tires just don't handle quite as nicely as the 700x25c I run on my road bike. But they are WAY more comfortable and I like the Pasela TGs for other reasons (shock absorbsion, tread, gumwalls). I prefer the Vario Rack , so I can use pretty much any backpack I want. I have one and love it (no sweaty back)

My recent Craigslist pickup....1992 (ish) Novara Randonee. It could use a bit of work but it rides pretty darn good as is. I'm hoping to strip it down and powdercoat this winter if the price is right.

Didn't install the fenders yet, nor the lights since they are not needed.
Here's this year's daily commuter. I'll be swapping the saddle soon to a black one. A few more changes may occur like cranks and gearing but other than that its good to go. Plan on just having fun with stickers on this one as well, sort of a paint protection strategy.
I'm not totally sold on the salsa bell lap bars yet, I sort of feel like going with the Ritchey Biomax on my other cross bike as I really like the feel.
Single Speed Cyclocross this season should be fun.

The Surly Pugsley, with it's 4inch tires, this would make one awesome winter commuter. Not mine but I wish it was. I wouldn't have much use for it here in Albuquerque. We do get snow here but not enough to justify buying a bike like that.
