Trek Domane 5.2 vs Diverge 2017?
Hey all.
I currently ride a Specialized Diverge 2017 DSW, and I知 looking for a bit of an upgrade. I知 looking on the secondhand market as bikes are quite hard to come by at the moment, and I found a Trek Domane 5.2 from 2016 for $1740 USD.
It has a carbon frame and a carbon wheelset (Bonatrager Aeolus 3 Pro TLR) and full Ultegera.
I have 2 questions: is this a good deal (BikeBlueBook says it is) and whether it would be an upgrade over my aluminum Tiagra Diverge?

What do you need out of the upgrade? Last year I was looking for bikes and found new bikes for not much more money than that with full Shimano 105 groups on them. Carbon bikes too if that matters to you.
They might be scarce now, but if you put up with your current bike for another year, then you should be able to save some more money to put toward your budget and get a new bike with 105 or maybe Ultegra if the new 12 speed versions push the NOS 11 speed versions down in price.

The Domane 5.2 was fitted with Ultegra mechanical drivetrain and rim brakes, but did not come with that carbon wheelset, so the previous owner upgraded. If it's in good shape and fits you, I believe $1740 is an excellent price.

Nice wheels. I have non TLR 5s. Strong wheels. I壇 like to just find a frame like that. The only thing you lose is the Trek warranty.
If it fits and you like the ride. You will. Go for it.
