Wow! That hurts. I'm not a trackie at all and rode my last race 40 years ago, but that velodrome (and OBRA) were a gift to the racing community and to the larger community. I knew it would take close to a miracle to keep the Alpenrose facility (dairy, park, velodrome) going for long but I could (and did) dream. That was a special part of Portland and Oregon.

Wow such a huge bummer!! I've only been there once to watch some CX races and love that area. Really going to miss Alpenrose! I live near Marymoor velodrome and glad things are going relatively ok given the pandemic. When racing returns, I imagine we will see more OR riders often and not just during special events/championships.
