Hand knit wool socks. When the new wears off, they'll become cold weather cycling socks.

Rum. And keeping with the nautical theme a full set of battery powered navigation lights that I fully intend to strap on the winter bike for the first good blizzard.

I bought 1 to give and 1 to keep. One of my cycling buddies and I are into coffee for one of our other hobbies. It just arrived yesterday so I put it under the tree for my gift to myself.

The book for dreams. The bike for nostalgia.
Book of Dreams
The bike arrived a couple of days early
‘79, one owner, all original, even if not high end. Extremely low miles, good cosmetics. May have had a few indoor trainer miles.

Six years ago our elder son invited us to dinner. I told my wife, "Something is up. Either he has lined up a permanent job or is finally going to get his PhD, or Jin is pregnant." It turned out I was right on all three counts. Grandson Henry was about 5 months old when he attended the PhD thesis defense with us. Two years later, his little brother came along. Grandparenthood is great, and now our elder son understands what it was like for us to raise two boys.

Can you get a shot of the head badge? Yours appears to attach with two vertically oriented rivets, as mine would. I am trying to figure out what to do for a head badge for mine, beyond stealing yours.

My wife and I don't get each other gifts because we buy what we want (well, within budget) during the year. So, nothing was under the tree but I got myself a present today. I bought this frame that OTS listed in the for sale forum. It will fit and I like that it is an unusual bike. I have a lot of the parts but I'll need brakes and a headset. It should be built up by Spring. I want to turn it into an all rounder.

Two very bright lanterns for my storage unit/bike shop.
I had the gift of being able to give my gal more C&V: 1988 Merckx Corsa Extra, built “my way” with NOS Centaur 2x11 polished.
It being an indoor year for a large part, she also got a Kickr Smart, Inside Motion E-Flex stand for it, and rather Wahoo sensors to simplify it.
My gift was, today, to ride next to her on her 6000th mile foe 2020. I think I’m at 4250, all of them with her.
Also met a really nice guy who raced and has bikes and time to shoot the breeze about them. That’s a gift any time.

At my age my wife and I don't make a big deal about gifting but she really surprised me this year with an item I had mentioned I need to get and another she came up with on her own. I was thrilled to receive these:
A cycling shell to wear in fall or spring rides and a hand made bike carrying bag which is water resistant nylon but made to have a bit of a vintage look to it.

I bought myself these mugs and they arrived just in time for Christmas.
Now I just need to find a five bolt fluted Williams crankset for my Franco Suisse and I can build a bike to go with them.
