Raleigh International
Bought this almost a month ago and FedEx just dropped it off after lunch today. It’s was covered in years of grime and dirt. After soaking the parts and scrubbing the frame I think it turned out pretty good.
Before and after.
Before and after.

I saw an orange one on facebook recently for $40, I was going to buy it but then the guy removed it and listed it for $80. I wasn't sure if the wheels or cranks were original since it had a dork disk and a 3 front chain rings and looked rough so I thought it might've been raided for parts. Ended up seeing it on craigslist with the rusted solid chain a few days later for $600 .
It sure looked a lot rougher in the pictures the guy selling for $600 took, and it's way to big for me, but if I could could've cleaned it up the profits really could've covered a hell of a lot more $20 money pits I love to get tangled up in

It’s beautiful and you have revealed and highlighted its loveliness! Good work on locating it, getting it and shining it up!

am I imagining things, or did you switch out the Record hubs for Tipo hubs?
That doesn't sound like an improvement... was something wrong with the Record hubs?

(very happy with the Record hubs on my International)

I liked the silver rims over the anodized rims. Hub change might be a winter project.

Nice score, great riding framesets. Had a ‘74, wish I had kept it to this day. Same champagne colourway.

My '71 International has tons of room for tires. I ran 700 x 38 with fenders until recently, and there was still plenty of wiggle room. I've heard Raleigh could be all over the place - does yours have extra room also?

27x1 1/4” with plenty of room for more.
