Olmo Sanremo is built - pic heavy!
Grabbed some pics in between the rain showers. This was built up with 10 speed Campagnolo parts and right now is sporting some Open Pro rims on Campagnolo hubs. The tubing is supposedly Columbus SL. The as built weight came in at 19 lbs 13 ozs which is pretty good. Wasn't even trying to build this up very light and am a bit surprised. Can't wait to see how it rides and hopefully tomorrow I can get it out.

Heres an OLMO I had way back in 1986, similar to yours only in color,(Pearl White) mine came with a mix of Galli and Campy parts.

jamesdak , That is outstanding. The detail is fantastic. I am not usually a huge fan of white, but I think that is the nicest looking white bike I've ever seen.

Nice bike and a clean build. I just said this in another post, and I'll say it again here; the quality of photography in this forum has grown by leaps and bounds. The pin sharp details in the above thread is just another example. Folks have really upped their game in the past few years in here...

Woo hoo, got it out today! First mile or two it felt twitchy and a bit off up front. The fork got a bit jacked on this one in shipment and the owner of my favorite LBS worked on it but didn't seem to feel like he got it right. I'm not sure if it's off still or in my head but it did seem more sluggish turning left. My last ride was on the Guv'nor so any road bike following that will feel twitchy for sure, LOL! Anyway low 40's with a headwind when I started. It was moving out ok even though I was taking it a bit easy to feel out the bike, listen for issues, check braking, shifting, handling, etc. The cold quickly got my lungs today too and my asthma flared up within the first few miles.
Now, new bike excitement aside I'd say this is a pretty comfortable ride without feeling to flexy. That's a good thing since all the wet weather over the past month has had me off the bikes a lot and the weight has been heading north....again. Over the roughest sections of chipseal it seemed to cruise just fine without becoming unsettled at all or hitting me hard in the saddle or handlebars. Since the weight is up I did go with 5 psi more pressure in both tires than I normally ride. Since it was moving so well I thought I just might sneak this one into the 19 mph club on it's maiden ride. But those early winds and the lungs getting jacked had me about one minute off pace at the 15 mile point. But the final 10 miles are an easier route so I thought I might make up the time. Ran fast for a couple of miles and then got a pinch flat on the rear due to all the gravel the nonstop construction has all over the roads anymore. Fixed that and then had to take a lot of the rest of the way home easy. There's so much crap on the roads up here now and I was down to one innertube. Anyway despite the issues today the 25 mile ride was done at an average pace of 18.7 mph. I have no doubt that if I can get one more day of calm weather with temps in the 50's I can get this one into the 19 mph club too.
I hit up the importer of these via email and he confirmed the same story I had heard a couple of times on the internet about these. " Interesting story about the last of these beautiful frames. We sold a lot of SL, SLX and Neuron tubed Olmo frames with lugs in the 90's however Olmo used all the lugs and had to resort to tig welded frames with carbon forks in the early 2000's. One day in 2009 Paolo Olmo called me to tell me they were cleaning and organizing the shop and they found enough lug sets to build about 50 frames; would I be interested? Without asking the price I told him I would take them all. We selected simple paint scheme with the vintage decal set and in 3 colors; red, blue and white. We sold all the popular sizes in 2009 and 2010 and currently we have 3 left in 62 and 63cm sizes."
Been done for about an hour and the lungs are still all clogged up and wheezy. Gonna have to start behaving myself on the cool days and take it easy. So happy to have this one in the stable too. It's already pretty much proven itself.

That is bad ass. Like how you kept the spirit of the vintage bike but added some modern appointments that dont look too out of place. Bet it will ride like a dream.
