Campy Cable Options

Does Campy not make white cables any longer? I can't find anything. (why is every component black these days? looks like total crap)

Campy never made white cables, nor do they currently make black cables. There was white housing for a while. Lots of people make white housing, try Jagwire.

If your cable has color to it that is not natural polished stainless steel or maybe titanium it is probably coated and best to avoid that. Slick stainless cables that are nicely polished will always work nicely and if you use a good outer it will be very smooth and shift well which is the most important thing. Jagwire does some excellent housing in different colors so you can worry about that later but just make sure it is the right cables and housing and you are gold.

If you are 8, 9, or 10 speed Campy parts you should be able to find black cables on eBay and such. You can sometimes find white Campy cables for the old C Record and similar 8 speed groups. You can find more options from European sellers, just input eBay.it or .fr or .uk for Italian, French, or English sites, I've been buying a few things for a 50's French bike and have been able to find everything I needed.

They run inside cable housing. The cable housing is usually black, but you can find colors, including white.
In your post, you asked for white cables, instead of white cable housing.

Yea... Who would want colored innards? Lol. I meant the housing. I thought you could possibly figure that out by deduction there Sheldon Cooper lol

cxwrench is a bike mechanic. Was he a bit pedantic in his reply? Yes. Does he have to deal with people in the shop where he works asking for the wrong stuff and then getting mad when they get exactly what they asked for? Maybe...

Possibly. Though I would use the word literal instead of pedantic. I would love to see everyone around him's reaction during a normal conversation in real life when he corrects every little literal mistake and they get irritated and his only excuse is "I'm a bike mechanic."... Lol.

Why are you confused? Because you use the wrong term. I KNOW you were talking about housing but posted cables incorrectly. Use the correct term and it won't happen. And yes, I correct people all the time at the shop, usually with wheel/tire/rim errors. If they don't like it, tough ****.

I wasnt confused, I just typed that to outwardly show lame I thought your literalness was. I didn't think internet tough guys existed on this forum but here you are lol. I bet you scare all the bike customers with your toughness.

"him's"?

OP can't find ubiquitous white housing, receives his answer quickly and directly with the first reply, and then complains about receiving excellent and free help.

Being confused is OK people get confused sometimes but cxwrench gave you good advice and of course you had to fire back with this stuff? He never attacked you personally but you ended up doing it to him. No real reason for that. Using incorrect terms isn't helpful especially if you have a question.
