The Thin Man 

For sale is a wonderful, 1990 Marinoni Special custom bicycle. I have owned this machine for a few months shy of a decade and gave it a full rehabilitation when first purchased. Since then, it has been ridden enough times to count on one hand due to other bicycles getting more saddle time.

This steed begs for steep, exciting descents, calf busting climbs and smooth, flat road to let you spin the miles out. All of which are a ride life I didn't provide but hope one of you will.

Back in 2016, I attended the Marinoni movie screening, "Fire in the Frame", in Portland, Oregon. I ended up coming home with a poster, signed by Giuseppe Marinoni, with full intention to frame it but never did. This also will go to the new owner. Images on the Flickr album.

I am located in Corvallis, Oregon and am hopeful for a local sale. I will be in Portland in mid-February so delivery to close-in PDX is possible.
However, if you are interested and shipping, I am open to this but would only do so by dropping the bike off at a trusted local shop for boxing and shipping. I understand this process adds to the cost but I have simply backed away from boxing bikes up myself any longer due to liabilities and previously bad experiences. Therefore, professional boxing and shipping is $175 to anywhere in the contiguous US.

I have a Marinoni "Special" from about the same time. It rides, climbs, sprints as good as my Merckxs or Guerciottis. Were it a 55cm, I'd be typing a PM right now in lieu of this thread bump. Extra cool points that it was built by the Men's 80-84 World Hour Record holder, 24.24 miles in one hour by an 80 year old guy. "Impressive", doesn't do that justice.

Oh and for laughs, I remeasured and this one measures out exactly at 54.5cm (C-T; post edited). Strange size but maybe it was a custom thing?

Marinoni bikes are truly impressive machines, Great look coupled with excellent workmanship and superb ride quality. My present Marinoni is the best feeling/riding bike that I have ever owned. The price offered by the OP is good deal, in my opinion.

My first Marinoni and I sold it only because it had been powder coated...


My present Marinoni and it is a keeper. Can't wait till next season when, once my hands are fixed, I can ride it again...

That orange, is just... spectacular! I'd have a difficult time letting it go, even with the past sins of powder.

Not to derail this sales thread, but I wanted to add how much I enjoy riding my Marinoni. They really are wonderful bikes. Suppose I need to find the Marinoni photo thread.
