The square tubing that I used to make the neck of the trailer is two sized larger than the tubing I used before, and the wall thickness of the tubing is at least twice as thick. With the gussets in key spots and strong-back that runs vertically from inside the trailer, I think it will be just simply skookum

For a while I've been posting to this thread about the development of my cottage-industry trailer. It's now a bonafide product you can find out about it here: www.redbiketrailer.com and there was a mostly positive review (with a few adventures!) here: https://www.commutebybike.com/2010/12...railer-review/

Thanks for the positive comments - this is the grim part of the year for the trailers. I'm spending lots of time and money building up inventory with not much chance of selling until it warms up here - April at the earliest. A kind word is extra encouraging now.

Ah so it is winter there dayworks? We got summer here so i am out even in a heatwave. I should stop that really otherwise my heart might give out but i love being out.

Hope i get my trailor back soon. A friend is a welder so he is changing the arm over to the otherside for me as that is what suits my bike!

ef4l-nice job too

I think I would qualify as a " stout soul ". I am out on my bike almost every day (blizzard conditions being the only exception) making my deliveries, regardless of the weather.

About your flag on the trailer, I've been tempted to put one on my trailer, but I'm worried that it might hit some ped as I go by them, not what I'd need, or hit a car or such, what is your experience with the flag?

Domo!

The flag points straight up unless the trailer is tipping over which I try to avoid. I was rear ended a few times when I didn't have the flag. Because my trailer is long and low to the ground, I think the flag is a good idea.

Bad suv vs good suv!

Lovely trailer and the comparison with a monster SUV speak volumes! Fortunately not so common over here so I didn't realise just how massive they are until I placed my own pedal powered SUV next to one...

Here is my Schwinn dual kid hauler that I removed the kid parts and added a PVC board deck...I can haul 2 coolers or two large totes or one of each etc..

Click on the thumbnail for larger pic...

The blue front and back rails have a coating of clear, reflective paint and the little white stripes in the photos are reflective tape. If one more car tries to drive up my backside, I will mount a Slow Moving Vehicle triangle on the rear of the trailer....
