Rage Riding was invented by Bernard Hinault, if I recall correctly:
I'm a big fan of his. I have a short 8% grade right outside my door, so at the end of every ride, I always stomp up it in my big ring, and make sure I burn up every last trace of anger, stress, or frustration I have remaining in me.

I fully understand where respondents are coming from in previous posts; however, having undergone castration to begin my treatment protocol for APC(Aggressive Prostate Cancer) I have no room for rage of any sort, simply a desire to squeeze the most positive aspects of "living in the present" can give up. I have tunes playing as the miles (145 yesterday) build with every crank rotation. A plus living in SW FL is that there is NO COASTING downhill following a long attacking climb so the effort expended is a given constant as is the mental attention during my frequent "midnight rides" to the road ahead AND to the side looking out for animals(12:30AM yesterday a family of 10 wild hogs) crossing or at the side prepared to lunge out at the least opportune time.
No matter your circumstances, ENJOY THE RIDE.

Geez Indy, I wish you'd just get it over with, and MARRY Montana. We hear about her every morning. J/K
I dunno know if you saw it, but a while back I posted a link to a law firm (Perry, Johnson, Anderson, Miller & Moskowitz) that maps out the best climbs worldwide, as advertising for their firm. They have a bunch of the Montana climbs described and mapped out nicely:

I don't rage ride, but riding to me is therapy. It's a time of mind clearing exercise and the endorphins afterward make me feel a lot better.

As long as it doesn't make you so aggressive you're putting yourself and others in danger with your riding, that sounds pretty damn healthy to me.

Cant recommend rage riding. Went for a gravel ride last summer, pretty upset about something I cant remember, and wound up breaking my neck!

Rage riding? Yes, please. It's much healthier than the coping mechanisms of my youth, which included drinking and breaking stuff (not necessarily simultaneously). Good for a few PRs, too!
When I ride on a regular basis, I'm less prone to rage to begin with. It's also helped me work through emotionally unpleasant experiences without resorting to more negative coping mechanisms.
That's not to say that rage riding is frequent; but, a good effort helps me feel like I have control over something.

I try to ride calm all the time. If I'm distracted it can usually mean an accident. So I ride calm, mindless and my mood improves. Maybe if I was younger I would rage ride, but remaining calm and breathing deeply clears my mind.

Yes. If there is adrenalin in the system, riding is one of the healthiest ways to process it.

I don't rage ride, but I do find cycling alters my mood for the better and a morning ride always feels like a good way to start the day.

No, but holiday rides are fun
No, but holiday rides are fun;
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, if I'm not working I like to get out and explore the neighborhoods on those days..
Stop at an open pub or coffee shop, as my wife and son usually doing their own thing.
Nice day to get away and enjoy my favorite bike of the stable of them.
