La Madonna del Ghisallo's home for orphan wheels

Post up you orphan wheels looking for a match or a new home.

Rims and hubs that have found them selves alone in the world are welcome too.

Upon further meditation on inclusivity, the doors are open to long abandoned wretched wheelsets, particularly those of the tubular faith.

I'm going to suggest that folks with "collections" maintain one post as a "Trade Blanket",

listing what ya got, and what you need. A geographical range would help,

as shipping is expensive.

UPDATE October 2022: Thanks to BFer seagrade in New Zealand, I now have complete set of vintage Roval spokes and can repair my rear wheel! Classic and Vintage is the best!
In search of vintage Roval rear wheel. Tubular rim, 126mm spacing, freewheel hub. Any condition. Looks like this.

That was going to be my request, Roval wheels, front or rear, in any condition. At least we are looking for the same things on different coasts....

I just need a rear to source 2 spokes for the drive side. I have a spare front wheel, but it is missing several spokes. By any chance are you challenged with the same problem?

I have a feeling it is a world-wide problem...

I understand planned controlled obsolescence as a business model, but you'd think someone would have made after-market spokes for Roval...I blame Specialized.

No. What I believe you are seeing is part of the unique cable guide on the Dura Ace AX RD.

Hi there,
are there any orphan Araya aero tubular rim in 28 hole out there? I only need one 28 hole, but could use a 32 hole if that's all there is.
Thanks

I’m curious about shipping cost for one rim (not a wheel) one way in a suitable box. Could use the same box for both trips. Shipping anywhere USA for derailleurs, calipers, etc, always seems to be 10 bucks +/-

I haven't shipped a wheel since the price spike, but I'd imagine $35-40?

Reposting from the other thread, I have an original Gitane tubular wheel set with a bad front wheel. I’m looking for an equivalent Mavic Montlery 36h wheel to swap out the bad one. I also have I think a Nisi? (Sticker is worn) rim in good shape w/out eyelets and a Nuovo tipo hub, I’ll send the whole wheel or unlace if someone is looking for one.

I can post pictures if needed.

I have to make sure not a word of this gets to my wheels. I have 3 bikes with QR front wheels and pista nutted rears. In both clincher and tubular. Two 7-speed bikes. Rear FW hubs with straight axles are rare. Those I find that work, I use. Many of those bikes get old Campy fronts which love to hang out at community bike shops. If all those wheels got one word of this, I'd be reduced to walking.

I have a pair of tubular Rovals in great shape. Haven't used them in decades. Also might have two or three spare spokes. I'd have to look.

(Sorry about the focus. I only rarely take pictures.)

IIRC they came in Aero models 1,2&4,not sure about 3. It's possible I have one, I think an Aero4.
Any preference?
