Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, you'd think they'd know better. We clean up after other local shop's sloppiness fairly often.

Because of all the closed roads, we loaded up our bikes and headed south to Amado Junction out of the way of all the road closures. Had a good 46 mile ride to Aricava, AZ.
My hammerhead friend and his posse did it in 4:47 elapsed time, he even got a flat around mile 60. The folks who ride at a pace I like to ride at got theirs done in 8:52 elapsed, and they took about an hour and a half in breaks.

Ya'll in Tucson much longer? I'm free to head down there Tues and Wed if you're still in town...

Wonder if the Bills are going to make their game tomorrow?

They should've just played in Buffalo!

Tomorrow’s start temps similar to today but with 15-20MPH winds and “real feel” 18F.

Most of my friends are bailing.

You wanna work up north again? Buffalo Airways says they're hiring...

Gotta get your Canadian pilot's license though, which seems odd, I figured pilot license for passenger stuff would be world wide.

Guy I used to ride with did it under 5 hours a couple times. He said you have to "qualify" to get a start position in the front. I think you have to beat a certain time and the next year you go to the front, or something like that.

I eschewed the club ride and met up with 3 others to ride in a wind protected area. Did some climbs and tried to go around the Rose Bowl but the USC/UCLA game is tonight and it was already zooed out. We happened on our club ride which was also going to the Rose Bowl, so that was unexpected.

I found a nice folding knife in the street and I didn't know what to do with it. It was still in it's sheath/case. Later there was a construction guy working on a mansion so I stopped and gave it to him. He was very appreciative, said he could certainly us it. Then he asked "is this a murder weapon?" I said yes, and it still has DNA on it. He laughed and called me "sir".

That's why you soak up a bunch of letters at once instead of guessing the whole word, once you're in a spot like that. But yes it is.

I tried that on guess five, but too late. It took that long to realize how many options there were.

Nice time/ride for your friend(s)

We are in Green Valley, not Tucson and I’ve been trying to get up to Tucson to ride with an old friend that lives in Saddlebrooke on the north side but my wife has me on a tight leash and a full schedule down here. Doubt I’ll make it up to Tucson this year.
