Thanks for the input. I would have gone with a 27.0 if I didn’t have any confirmation. I was able to get a 27.2 Super Record post in.

I also stripped the anodization off a no date core Strada crank set and some 52/46 gears.

looking very fine

is the frame constructed without a no-slide pibb?

if a pibb were present and employed would expect for shift levers to sit somewhat higher on the downtube

nope no braze on to stop the shifter slide. Looking at the picture it does look too low. When I put the NR RD later this week I’ll line it up with a bike with braze- ons to get the height right.

I also received a drop bolt from @unworthy1 today. So I’ll be working on the brakes.

serial number of K942. Based on the Waterford guide I think it’s from October of 1969. Am i interpreting this correctly or could it be something else?

Would this have come with Nouvo Tipo hubs and 27” Fiamme rims?

is there a way to tell what model Paramount this is?

Nice catch. I think you'll like it.

Through 1969, Paramount serial codes were, like yours, in the format of XYZZ. "X: was month (K=10th month, Oct, as "I" was not used), "Y" is the year (196Y) and ZZ is the number of the frame for that month. So yours is the 42nd frame from October 1969. Starting in 1970, it became "X7YZZ or X7YZZZ so that a given frame would the ZZth or ZZZth frame from month X of 197Y.

Waterford is the true keeper of the Paramount frame, and a bunch of info (including the above) is available on the Waterford website in the "Culture" section. This page is a good place to start for yours.

Based on that page, I doubt yours is a P-13 (racing). Check the write-up and see what you think, but my guess is it's a P-10 or a P-15 (they discontinued one number and went to the other at some point within a few years of yours, but I don't know when). Schwinn catalogs are available on-line, so you might be able to narrow it down that way if you feel like going down that particular rabbit hole.

Shaping up nicely. That's a keeper.

Enjoyed reading the build progress for this BF community helped 69 Paramount.
Nice learning more about these wonderful machines and history as I recently acquired a P-13 1973.

I was able to put some time in on the Paramount over the last couple of days.

Polished the crank and chainrings, put on a NR RD (71 date code), moved the shifters up, and replaced the cable guide with a Campy version.

Between the footballers and the Guerciotto photobombing I’ll never get a good picture.

Most of you probably recognize these campy tools that Schwinn provided with the Paramount's back in that era.
