Bike rack inside my Van, ideas?
Looking for a simple, low profile, bike rack inside my Van. Also need to keep the pedals and handlebars from scratching the walls. Ideas?

Just whatever you do, make sure you secure it well enough that if you ever have to slam on the brakes you won't have a "never knew what hit me" moment.

2x4, ripped down to 2x2, or just buy 2x2 and build a wheel chock. Wedge tire in and done.

Find a way to secure one of these. You can bolt it down if you want to drill holes in the floor. Tie your wheel to it with some cord and it won't come out.

There looks like some sort of fitting on the side walls, just ahead of the wheel wells. Can you use those to fix a front wheel chock rack across the floor? Is there room between that and the back door? How about the racks they make for the beds of PU trucks? They remove their F wheel and clamp the fork ends down. Very secure.
As as to scratching the walls or adjacent bikes look for those sleeve/tie down straps, again, used in truck beds for bicycles or motorcycles. Or get some tubes of closed foam material that the LBS removes from new bikes when unpacked. We through out barrels of the stuff.

I use these from saris. they mount to a track you can buy from them or you can modify something yourself. you take the front wheels off and put the forks in the ends and tighten up

This. Mount to a 2x4, bolt a couple of small channels/angle iron to the wall, slide in/out of the channels as needed. You might even have the height to mount directly to the ceiling and take up less floor space.

You can get fork mounts for thru axles as well if that's what you need.

I agree 2x2 look bad, but mine is cargo, I don't care. Once all of it is rattle can painted black its better. I keep bouncing from one temp fix to another.
Originally I had a short rack with 3 🚲 in rear, and a bed over them. Then I swapped to Travel trailer and added a dual sport. The van simply became a garage.
So rack became taller, and one bicycle went up front. Not a bad thing as it come in and out of slider door. Easier access to a bicycle with a trailer connected.
1 chock, 2 straps
Ugly, but it is a super simple grab and go ride. Even the dual sport only requires removing 1 bicycle.
Crazy thing is I can swap out the dual sport with my NC700x and still have room for 3 bicycles.
The new goal is to carry both motorcycles, and 3 bicycles in van. But I really don't need 3 in van. I could put a cheap urban style bike on rear bumper of travel trailer. Say harlo Beasley, or some other 700x35 - 700x40 single speed build. I also don't need the 700x unless I'm sitting some where very long.
Edit: I mounted 2 boards to wall of van with threaded rivnuts. The 2x2 tire support system is all screwed to those 2 boards. Super simple removal. The motorcycle wheel chock. Left 3 holes in floor of van. But those holes could be welded. Or just sealed off someday on removal of tire chock

I bolted mine directly to the truck bed -- I just drilled right through the sheet metal. But for a less-permanent installation, dedhed has a great idea.

Get a flip-up wall mount bike hanger. Bolt it to one of the various access points on wall. Use the tie down straps of your choice to prevent the bike from launching during spirited driving. Fold up arms when not in use.

I like these and actually have a old one for a skewer axle. Now my bikes are 12 or 15mm thru axles. I assume they make the for these also. I'll look.
EDIT: Funny that Saris doesn’t make them for Thru Axles. Plenty other options on Amazon however.

Got her done this week. Built a bracket out of aluminum extrusions (T-nuts) and bolted it to the two lower rear M8 weldnuts located behind the passenger wheel well.
No holes needed to be drilled on the vehicle!
