Old dog, new tricks?

Hey everyone.
I'm Kurt. Now I have had a bmx for years, but really just rode it as a bike. Now I'm 39 and I just built it up to learn freestyle. I hear a bunch of negativity and not much support, but what I want to know is, is it really too late for me? Should I just stick to the sidlines and enjoy seeing the younger generation tear it up, or should I keep my head up? Let me know please.

C'mon, dude -- I'm 62 and I still regularly ride the pump tracks, trails, and urban spots on my BMX cruisers. At 39, you have plenty of time to get good at freestyle!

You do you! And don't let ANYONE tell you you can't ride bmx/freestyle because you're too old.

I'm 43, and started BMX racing at 40. I'm not as much for freestyle, but no reason not to learn.

I will say that maybe not learning tricks the same way the kids do ("just send it" and then come back the next day) might be smart being a little older - but just stay a little closer to your skill envelope and learn stuff gradually.

Some people don't understand change. Maybe it scares them, but that shouldn't stop us from living life to the fullest.

You do you dude!
