Bit of a long shot this one.
Came home with this unusual wheel today.
Looks old, but little used.
Looks like stainless steel and spokes the same.
Rim profile looks similar to Westwood, but smaller.
Hub is chromed steel Sturmey Archer.
I've not seen the like before and wonder if anybody here has?
It came with a 50s Triumph roadster but I cannot be sure it was fitted to the bike originally.

What is that little sign stamped on the ends of the spokes?
It takes a schwinn size 26x1 3/8" tire but you probablyalready knew that.
Really cool.

Viscount- Nice find. The 26 x 1 1/4 rims and related tires were used on English "club" bikes; take a look at the Lenton Clubman on the Retro-Raleighs site. Very similar to the wheels/tires on the "Sport" bikes, aka light roadsters, which were 26 x 1 3/8. The big difference is in the BSD. 26 x 1 1/4 are 597mm and the 26 x 1 3/8 are 590mm. The tires are not interchangeable. Schwinn called this their S6 size tire/wheel whereas the English refered to it as EA1. I have a set of these wheels on my 1958 Raleigh Trent Sports and are still in good shape. However, if you decide to sell these wheels, definately give me a shout as I will buy them from you. Thx again, PG.

Thanks for your info.
This one rim/wheel is an oddment picked up with other stuff and a bit of a mystery to me.
Looks old but no wear that I can see on the braking area for example.
Probably rebuilt as LWaB says, but well done, and it intrigued me
It came with this 50s Triumph roadster, without wheels but quite interesting in itself.
(I put a pair of my own wheels on it to facilitate photography.)
Brooks saddle covered the cost of it!

A friend suggests that LA might = Light Alloy.
I check Classiclightweights pages and come up with:
https://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/wheels-avt.html
Scroll down to 'choice of rims, then P3 = Dunlop Alloy.
Got to be that one.
The awkward shallow rim theory will be tested shortly.
