Ordered a swytch for my vintage mountain bike

I only really use my vintage mountain bike when I run errands.

It’s got some rust, I put stickers on it, and it doesn’t look new so I feel ok locking it up outside when at the store, it’s obviously never been stolen. I would never leave my road bike locked out outside anywhere.

I decided to order the Swytch conversion kit since it’s more for transportation rather than plain old riding.

Looks like it won’t arrive until the fall. Excited to go to the grocery store and not be sweating when I get home. There’s one particular uphill area coming home that always tires me out. Can’t wait.

A few tips on the kit, it's a 10mm mount, your bike is probably good because it's a heavy and probably steel fork. If the eyelet diameter is smaller a flat file will help the motor mount fit.

I think they send a universal disc that mounts on the crank arm now, so there should be no fitting issues. It mounts on the drive side (right foot).

I had issues installing on my tandem but once setup it works great. We can coax about 50 miles out of the pro pack by using the assist on just hills.

Hope you enjoy it, took about 6 months to get mine but was in the middle of the pandemic.

Thanks for tips. Yea, steel fork, bike is a takara highlander. From the research I did they will make a wheel that should fit fine. They have a couple new batteries. I got the max version which should be more than enough range for how I’m using it. I added these velo handle bars a while back which are great. I have a cheap saddle because a nice one would get stolen. Can’t wait.
