Common fibular nerve

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Common fibular nerve

Yesterday I completed only my second century my first was 4 weeks ago. This morning and the morning after the previous century I woke up with discomfort behind my right knee. I'm no physician so I've relied on Google to try to identify the cause of the discomfort and think it's my Common fibular nerve, but I could be wrong.

Has anyone suffered from anything similar, could it be my Common fibular nerve and have you any suggested remedies?

All the best neurologists like to make their diagnoses on the basis of minimal information, having never seen the patient and on the basis of a sketchy knowledge of human anatomy. Absolutely foolproof.

Whenever you feel pain, its through pain receptors that are linked to a nerve. Doesn't mean the nerve itself has a problem. Sounds like a knee joint issue to me, but how would I know. See a doctor.

You may need your leg amputated from the neck down. See a doctor.

Slam your hand in a door, you will forget all about knee problems.

I have to do a towel stretch after a long ride, which seems to stretch that nerve. I stretch thoroughly before and after each ride. If I don't, I have problems like this.

I'll agree with the above dr's diagnosis that you need a below-the-neck amputation. That'll be $120.

If you were really stretching a large nerve like that you would probably lose consciousness from the pain.

No. It may be stretching something that pulls on that (or another) nerve. Sure helps a lot of problems, though.
