Had it not been for some observant neighbors, I would have died on my kitchen floor.
Thanks for the wishes.

I was transferred to a rehab place last week and immediately started looking for a better one. Still not eating solid food or walking. Guessing I should cancel the Easter weekend trip.

No solid food in rehab? Think of the training you can do for touring: eating ice cream, slurping milkshakes ...

Hooked on Touring
Indy -
Back between 2014 to 2016 I was diagnosed Stage IV.
(I still don't think they were right, but it was a shocker all the same.)
My first series of treatments - in 20212 - went south after a year.
I got a "nice" letter from Mayo Clinic saying I might want to put my affairs in order.
Not the kind of letter most people want to receive.
But I am thankful my friends and I have a healthy gallows humor.
The unsuccessful treatment did give me some improvement, at least.
I decided that, whatever else happened, I'd go down biking.
In 2014 I did a little ride in Grand Teton N.P. - and I mean little.
The pathetic thing was that I was embarrassed. Geez!
I did a bigger trip in 2015 and a cross-country in 2016.
Riding up White Pass in Washington - one of the easier passes -
I had to stop every 1/2 mile or so. And hoped no one would see me.
Isn't that crazy? Why should it matter, anyhow?
Fact is - they're only going to pass me once and never know I stopped 1/2 mile back.
As if any of that mattered.
Here's my trip journal over at Crazyguy -

Easter is still 8 weeks away - - who knows?
There are some nice trails fairly close to Indianapolis.
The Little Miami Trail comes to mind.
Just a day trip - with a friend?
Hopefully you won't be like me and get all miffed at yourself.
My wish for you is for a perfect, sparkling early April day.
And a bike ride that is restorative in so many ways.
Jama
PS - 2nd set of tx in 2017 were/still are successful. It's all borrowed time.

Hoping for continued improvement. Even if the Easter trip is dramatically shortened to just a few miles on the MUP, it's great to have goals.

Ha, I've been on an anti-diet for awhile, trying to gain weight. At last check, I was 163, which is good for me. I might have a little more now, grapes & oranges are plentiful here 😎😁
