Bushmills + Ebay= Raleigh International
Spotted this on Ebay after a few adult beverages.It was a local pickup only, and a BIN/ make an offer, so I threw a 50% offer in for my own entertainment……
Pretty much untouched…..17974 or 1975?
Original tubular wheels
Skid lid and pump
Seller was a super nice guy who buys industrial equipment at auctions and re-sells it. This was a part of one of those auctions combined, with an estate sale. He knew it was a nice bike but didn't want to bother shipping it. Have not had time to dig in but it seems to be almost all original and in really good shape.

Fantastic! I waited a few years for an International to pop up, I think there were few of them sold in Canada. I found a Competition and I'm happy with it, but an International is something special - and in my size, and in such nice condition!
What are your plans? Full clean up, servicing?

Very nice.
Serial is on Bottom Bracket. Starts with W. 3rd character is the year the frame was built. 4 = 1974, 5 = 1975, 6 = 1976. etc

Nice score, even if it was unintentional!
A Triplizer worked great for me, and I changed my Suntour Cyclone to a Suntour V-GT Luxe to handle the range. I'll be trying barcons myself soon.
Congratulations - that's a beautiful bike. Clean up those tubular wheels and put a new pair of sew-ups on!

Wait a minute! You got a pair of good wheels with tubular rims for quickness, and a set of touring wheels with Weinmann concaves and your thinking about rebuilding them? I would ask you to ride both sets and decide after riding the pair to see the difference. I think it is a great find as is and congrats on the purchase. Smiles, MH

I'd say congratulations to the seller rather than you... He's had it listed for months, if not years already! Probably shed tears of joy. It's a beautiful bicycle, though, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

My '74 International came with AVA tubular rims, which are pretty modest rims (they require spoke washers). The ones in the pic don't look like the AVA labels, so they might be nicer.
It would be a shame to not give them a shot, especially if you (or a buddy) know how to mount sew-ups.
I do have to admit that my '74 International is wearing Mavic MA-2 clincher rims, though.
There's something to be said for substituting nice stainless spokes for the originals.
The Olmo is the go-fast bike that gets to use the sew-up wheels (although it has been running some Veloflex Corsa clinchers lately).

Great bike! I remember when I bought my 75 Copper Intenational on eBay a few years back after consuming some adult beverages. I don’t regret it one little bit. You gotta keep it, it’s a great ride. The next step is to consume a few adult beverages, then go on eBay and start bidding on parts for your desired build.
