Eff it, I'm taking a .5 day today. I'm going riding. It'll be the kast 70 degree day till spring by all accounts. I rode Contador again yesterday with his stem flipped. It is quite comfortable that way.

I am pretty good at spotting things like continuity flaws in films. At one point in "Little Girl" Jodie Foster strips with her back to the camera. She had obviously been out in the sun before filming because she has a distinct bikini bottom "signature."
Paula Shephard, who played the adolescent sister in "Alice", was actually 19 years old at the time. I learned that only last night. She looks pretty young in the film, but her voice doesn't sound like a girl of thirteen. The only other film she appeared in was "Liquid Sky." I saw that at the Ritz in the early 80s. It's terrible. At one point, Sheppard humps a dead guy's nose, telling the other people in the room, "If you don't like it, you don't have to watch!"

Giants I think will get maybe 10 wins, but likelier closer to 8. Two games left against the Iggles, one against the Cowboys, and the Seahawks this weekend. Backloaded schedule, but it's great to see a decent crew in charge for once. And highly-drafted QBs are overrated, as I've said before.

I managed a 4 on Wordle by sheer luck. No letters on guesses 1 and 2, ONE letter in place on 3, and a WAG for 4.

It was misty this morning during my whole entire ride. The weather lady wasn’t calling for any precipitation, and my weather app on my phone said not a chance, so when I left this morning I had my glasses on. Made it to the end of the street, and the mist picked up, I opted to return to my mail box to drop off my glasses. If I had known about the rain I would have worn contacts, but being 5 am, I wasn’t going back in the house to wake up my pregnant wife. Riding blind, in the rain, in the dark, and not using my best head light sucks.
On the cervelo I run the night ryder lights. Mainly to give the bontrager lights a rest since I use them on both the ritchey and the madone. I’m really paranoid about how long the rechargeable batteries will last on all my accessories, so I try to swap atleast the lights around so I am not charging them all the time.
I met one of the guys from the tuesday group, before the actual group ride. It was fun, both had some hard efforts, my legs felt good, power output was good for my heart rate. Once the group ride started I elected to hang in the back for drop rider support. I never do this, and actually had fun. My services were only needed once, we got split from the group at a stop light. I don’t think the group realized 2 of us got left behind, but I was able to get us back to the group.

Heres the whole story: I’ve never been one to get too worked up over bikes and generally just bought them based on size, componetry, color, mystique, etc. I would test ride bikes and as long as they felt close to what I wanted, I didn’t worry too much and figured that I would get used to them and I pretty much always did. When I was a cat 2 on a regional team, I was sent a new bike every season to use and never got a chance to ride them and it always worked out except for one brand/bike but that’s another story.
So, anyway, I rode my wife’s new SLR 7 around the block a couple times and got intrigued. Her LBS had a SLR 6 mechanical in stock and the shop owner said to take it for an afternoon. I took it out for a windy, hilly 10 mile ride and fell in love with it. It rode like a cross between my 2015 Propel and my 2021 Colnago V3 which is a good feel.
Took it back and the shop rebuilt it with a Force eTap group, power meter, different bars, and a couple other things.
I’ve only got 82 miles on it so far and the weather has been horrendously windy so I can’t really give a good review but I certainly haven’t got any complaints. Rides beautifully.

Pizza slice ride today, first time in months and it wasn't even windy. It was actually the nicest day we've had in some time. I had a slice with pesto, garlic, and mozzarella. Sucky traffic on the way to the start so we probably won't do it again until the wind is awful elsewhere.

It's likely that this is my last week for my week-night "Happy Hour" MTB ride due to the shortening daylight hours. After work, I can get on my bike by 5:00, the ride takes 57 minutes-ish, and gets me home just before sunset (6:06, tonight). I suppose I could invest in a lighting system, but I have other bike gear priorities I need to take care of first.
