Schwinn Sierra

This was donated to the co-op.

It will probably sell for $150 to $200 if we sell it locally through our normal process.

I've heard these have a following. Anybody think we can clear more than that by selling online?

I assume most of the value is in the Snoopy bell.

suspect the following for the Sierra model amongst Schwinn fans would be for the 1960's era Chicago manufactured ones which were road as opposed to mountain -

here is a 1963 model:

example of 1964 -

I have one and that value seems reasonable.

If you can get that locally, go for it. Only way to do better is selling parts, and it would be a slog.

By the time you pack, ship and pay all the fees, you will probably be slightly over that mark, but the time could be much better spent on other tasks. Save the on line sales for the high end stuff. High Sierras have more desirable parts.

+1 I would say clean it up nice service it and put some nicer pedals, seat and maybe tires on it. Take the rack off so your not giving it away and list it locally for $275 to start pretty good chance you can get that. I agree that parting it out really doesn't make sense for for a co-op which should be building bikes not tearing good ones apart.

This is usually where I end up with co-op bikes.
