This is functionally identical to the HRM Pro but has a battery door.

I am trying to figure out if the run dynamics of the HRM are the same as the run dynamics recorded by the running dynamics pod. I also don't know if I need the new 255/955 to take advantage of all the advanced features. I think I do.

I have the HRM Pro because it has whatever they need to estimate power for Nordic skiing. I use that a lot every winter. 🙂

The chest strap and RD Pod both give you the same Running Dynamics metrics. The pod is for people who won't wear a strap. I have a friend who runs ultras, chest straps give her chafing.

Running Dynamics has been a thing for a long time now, you don't need the latest generation watch. But it's always wise to check before spending the money.
