Motobecane with Campagnolo components ID help
Hey guys,
So a very good friend of mine sent me these 2 pics of his fathers bicycle. He said his dad said it’s a racing bike and he even won a few races with it back in the day. Don’t have much to go off of so I was wondering if you guys could help me ID it.

Kroozer has it. 72/73 Le Champion. I’ll add that it’s a great bike! Knock the dust off of it, let’s see what it looks like.

Ask your friend if his dad has another wheel set hanging around. Those look like the ones on my first ten speed before I upgraded to a UO-8😁

Super nice bike. I like my Motobecane Grand Record, but it does not have the chromed rear stays like the Le Champion. And I think the red-on-black paint scheme looks great.

The red/black paint seems more durable than teal/white. This example looks really good condition beneath the protective layer of fuzz.

Thanks everybody. I told him what it was today and he was happy learn a bit about it. They thought it was late 70s early 80s when he bought it. I unfortunately won’t be able to clean or ride it since it’s far from me and probably not for sale but the info is very much appreciated!
